Different Door Types for Your Home

There are a lot of different ways you can make your home stand out and give it curb appeal. Aside from keeping your yard lush and green, the front door of your home can make it more eye catching than all other homes in your neighborhood. You can also replace the doors inside your home to give it a more personalized, custom design inside and out. Here are a few door types you should consider for the interior and exterior of your home.

Steel and Fiberglass Entrances

Steel entryways are popular for interior and exterior solutions because they are sturdy and efficient. Depending on your preference, this entryway can be solid or hollow. A steel entrance is a great alternative to a wood entrance. Fiberglass entrances are sturdy like steel entrances, but they are lightweight and non-flammable. These entrances are popular because they do not twist, warp or bow and they are inexpensive to maintain. Fiberglass entryways can be painted to create a unique appearance or to co-exist with a current theme.

Aluminum Entrances

Many homeowners are fond of aluminum entrances because they are lightweight like fiberglass entrances and they can reasonably withstand harsh outside elements, though not forceful ones such as hail and ice. On top of that, aluminum entryways are lightweight which means your door frame won’t endure too much wear and tear.

PVC Entrances

PVC entrances are popular because of their unique design. However, they’re best for interior entrance solutions because they are not weatherproof. PVC is the acronym for Polyvinyl Chloride, a lightweight plastic that’s easy to install, available in a wide range of colors, durable and termite proof.

Glass Entrances

Glass entrances are convenient for interior and exterior entrance solutions. Many homeowners choose glass entrances for the front door of their home because of its elegant appearance. That said, glass entrances are a bit more expensive than most options, but they are a great choice for enhancing your home’s curb appeal.
